Pros

I wish I had something to say here.

Cons

This company is not welcoming to LGBT employees. The corporate level talks a big game but it does not trickle down to a site level. There is no justifiable reason why an employee should have to come up with a training course so their management can learn to interact with them, HR passing the buck. You will run the risk out being outed if you are closeted and not seeing any repercussion for those inconsiderate of who you are.

Micron Technology Response

It is Micron’s strict policy that all employees be treated with respect, regardless of their diversity dimension. The behavior you describe is wrong, and is something that Micron takes very seriously. We’d like to address it. If you are willing to share more details about your experience, please submit a report on our Ethics Hotline: https://secure.ethicspoint.com/domain/media/en/gui/8715/index.html Please note the report can be submitted completely anonymously, if this is more comfortable for you. We very are sorry to hear about your negative experience at Micron. Members of our PRIDE+ Allies employee resource group (ERG) and Micron leaders work tirelessly to raise awareness of and fight against any discriminatory, inappropriate or inconsiderate behavior, including disclosing someone’s sexual orientation or gender identity without that person’s consent. Each year our PRIDE+ Allies ERG and our Diversity, Equality & Inclusion teams host Inclusive Ally training to specifically educate our workforce about how to be an advocate for members of the LGBTQ+ community and how to be aware of and sensitive to all related LGBTQ+ issues.

Pros

Decent pay, great stock grants and stock purchase plan. You can be at the forefront of memory technology driving today's AI megaboom, and benefit from the high demand (i.e. soaring stock price).

Cons

Little sense of community, lifeless office environment, dead-eyed and overworked employees. "Flexible work arrangements" in name only, as recent policy changes have significantly reduced effectiveness especially if you have a long commute or family life. Too much emphasis on unimportant buzz such as embracing diversity and inclusion is just annoying, but par for the course in today's big tech industry.
