Pros
Tight work groups and easy to communicate to all levels of management. I work with a great group of people (IT) and strong management. Our VP knows a lot about each area of IT and not just managing people. Many people in my group are MBAs and bring a high level of professionalism and IT expertise. It seems that all managers have an open-door policy. I have yet to see anyone pull rank. Last thing, they are super family friendly. You will NEVER get grief if you or your kids are sick, they completely understand.
Cons
Pay is pretty good, but not as good as other organizations. They definitely do things the way they've done it for years, regardless of possible more efficient ways. From the start, it's a sink-or-swim environment...thus why the interviews are pretty in depth. In my area, there is zero training. You had better know the ins and outs of your job the first day. If you're a BS kind of person, you won't make it in the door.
