Pros
Branch manager was an amazing person. Certain people in the company were their saving grace.
Cons
Pay is lower than any other financial institution. They try to say theyre competitive because they offer bonuses and benefits but so does every other bank. The sales and referral goals are often unattainable unless you adopt shady business tactics. For example my tellers would try their best to create actual referrals for customers to take advantage of new products and services while other branches had bankers who would simply give teller referrals for just being present that day. The bankers and assistant managers would often open multiple checking and debit cards for foreign students taking advantage of the fact that there was a language barrier and would say that one account and debit card was to take advantage of a promotion they were having while the other student checking was so they could get free atms... Then they would come to the teller line later on to conduct a regular transaction and would express confusion on why they needed two checking accounts and two debit cards. The HR deparment here is the worst ive ever experienced. They will hunt you down at your branch for false allegations they have no proof of and cause further turmoil in front of the entire staff. However if you properly document an employees poor performance and constant complaints you quickly find how much of a waste of time it is because they do nothing to get rid of toxic people that cannot perform their job leaving the rest of the staff to pick up the slack with no further compensation. There were instances where a banker ordered a debit card for a customer and when the customer received it there was someone elses account number where their name would be embossed. Multiple complaints from customers about individuals come with no reprecussions. You are literally allowed to underperform and be incompetent at your job at this company. Some managers would waste so much time gossiping about staff and customers instead of performing their actual duties. The bankers love opening new accounts and have a great attitude when doing so but when it comes time to later service these accounts the change in attitude was alarming. The assistant managers would often not record sales if it didnt benefit them leaving the lesser paid tellers without a referral opportunity. If you love to gossip, love working with toxic people you cant get rid of and love doing other peoples jobs while being underpaid already then this is the place for you! The software they use to perform daily duties is extremely outdated. Approval levels are ridiculously low and makes it so youre constantly micro managed. You have to reach out to VPs and regional managers constantly because they dont trust you to do the job you were hired for. Work life balance is terrible you constantly have to make sure you only work 40 hours a weeks when the bank is open from 9-6 m-f and are open saturdays leaving you to have to manage an awkward working schedule.
