Pros

generous PTO, generous retirement options, good work-life balance, pretty campus. helping students succeed in their healthcare career journey, decent supervisors make up for poor business practices here. OK yearly raises.

Cons

Since COVID, things have been very different at MWU. There is a large disparity between faculty and staff. faculty are able to do what they want and abuse WFH privileges- the amount of days they are able to WFH are unclear because it seems to vary week to week depending on the faculty member along with creating their own daily schedule, there is no consistency. meanwhile, staff must punch in like robots and sit around for 2-3 hours until faculty begin their day which is usually around lunchtime when most staff take their breaks. there is a lot of wasted time and a lot of complaining that things cannot get done due to other university obligations. issues amongst faculty are not dealt with accordingly and creates a hostile environment. there is no onboarding with other staff or faculty to get used to the procedures, you are thrown into it, not sure who to ask for help and must learn from your inevitable mistakes with little direction.

Pros

Employees like the parties and recognition gifts given at the end of the year This is a good environment for somebody who does not necessarily want to do a lot of work and sit at a computer just because they have to be there for their job

Cons

Managers who do not want to be questioned and maintain a status quo Managers who set up performance plans based on no data and no information to to set employees up for failure
