Pros
The people are dedicated, tenacious and amazingly productive considering the age of or lack of tools, training, mentoring, resources. Some supervisors and managers are great too - visionary, supportive, have your back. Always tons of work to be done as they are so lean. There IS potential flexibility to have a life - but only if you get the right supervisor or manager.
Cons
Major offshoring continues. 2 sets of wildly divergent values and benefits: those for employees, those for management. Very little trust of employees, little advancement. Good mgrs. with vision beyond just the bottom line many times are ostricized or driven away. Mgmt. seem to feel all are more than capable of working 12 hr days, but only a very select few are able to handle more money or a new title for it. "Experienced" employees are encouraged to retire.
