Pros
* There is some real talent at this company, especially on the development side of things, but also in customer service, QA, and on the tech floor. * We actually help people run their business here, which is often claimed in the SaaS world, but rarely true. This place is legit in that respect. * They take care of their technical support people. Rick just built an entire building for them and it's absolutely gorgeous and well thought out with the tech support agent in mind. * They consider your application from a rounded perspective, instead of judging you solely on the basis of your experience or education, but it's important to fit with their core values. * They hire entry-level workers for jobs in all areas of the company, which is pretty rare in this economy. * They sometimes offer relocation pay. * Perks and benefits are great (tons of PTO, onsite wellness, free gym classes on site, etc.), and they have 401 matching. Oh and free, quality swag a couple times a year. * Food trucks like Acai Bowls often swing by and off-site meetings and team lunches are not uncommon. Beer is allowed on-site on Fridays after 4pm, provided that people drink responsibly. * We work hard, but have flexibility in things like our schedules, working from home, etc., and no one judges you for it as long as your work is done well. * Our higher ups mingle. A LOT. Don't be shy; they don't bite. * Many of our employees never want to leave. I know several people who've been there for 6-10 years already. * They are ergonomic and will get you what you need to help you be comfortable and healthy at work.
Cons
* Not really a con for me, but there are lots of cliques here and I've heard that it can be very hard to fit in unless you party with mindbody people, but most people hired are open/accepting of people from all walks of life and with many different personalities, so if you can handle being around the cliques and you want to do your own thing, you can totally do that. * Joining MINDBODY is a little like joining an egalitarian cult. They make you set goals for yourself around the core values every quarter and those are designed to keep you thinking about how well you do/n't fit in. It's great that they are serious about our company culture because no one wants to feel corporate, but it is also true that it can feel like a little much for people who aren't used to it. * The pay could be better and SLO is not a cheap place to live because of the high college student population. It's not a secret, but hey, we have good perks and benefits, so maybe it balances out for most people. * I actually love this part, but if you don't like change, this is not the place for you. The software is extremely complex and it's always, always changing to meet new demands from our clients. Becoming intimate with it is not for the feint of heart. * Training is often too short, and non-extant in other departments. They're working on it, but this remains true for now. * Don't go for the free insurance, as the deductible is high and that can hurt you with one visit to the ER. HSA rules are pretty restricting.
