Pros

Management is really receptive to feedback and implements suggestions! For example, there was no formal training program for new hires. When an RBT suggested one, they created an organized and formal program where two RBT’s at each center are trainers with additional hourly pay. The South Colorado Springs location provides an excellent person centered, trauma informed, individualized, and compassionate therapy.

Cons

No competitive pay, hard to promote generalization across environments due to kids not being allowed outside or on outings. The company also has a lenient sick policy for kids while sick policy for RBT’s are strict. This can create a space where kids are allowed to come in for therapy, get staff sick, and then staff have to be evaluated harshly based on sick call outs with no sick pay.

Pros

The biggest strengths of working at Mindcolor Autism are the supportive team environment, exceptional training opportunities, and the meaningful impact you have on clients' lives every day. Management and supervisors are approachable, knowledgeable, and genuinely invested in both employee success and well-being. The company provides comprehensive training that prepares staff for the RBT certification exam while also offering ongoing mentorship from BCBAs through regular overlaps and feedback. The workplace culture is positive and collaborative, with strong relationships among RBTs, supervisors, and leadership. Every day brings new learning opportunities, making the work engaging and helping employees continuously develop their clinical skills. Most importantly, the job provides the unique opportunity to build strong relationships with children and their families while witnessing incredible growth, progress, and life-changing achievements over time, making the work both rewarding and fulfilling.

Cons

One of the more challenging aspects of working at Mindcolor Autism is the unpredictable nature of the job. Because each client is unique and every day can bring different behaviors, challenges, and learning opportunities, the role requires a high level of flexibility, patience, and adaptability. Sessions can be physically and emotionally demanding at times, especially when supporting clients through difficult behaviors or unexpected situations. Additionally, progress can sometimes occur gradually, requiring consistency and perseverance from staff. However, these challenges are also what make the work meaningful, as overcoming obstacles and seeing clients achieve their goals makes the effort worthwhile.
