Pros

Work for a good, professional, prof. and you will have a good experience Decent stipend for the area Optional, discounted health insurance VERY cognizant of hours worked, careful not to exceed the average of 20 hours/week Insider access and opportunities unavailable to non-GA grad students

Cons

Depending on prof., you can be overworked and/or asked to perform silly tasks like cleaning prof's office (true story) Lack of respect-I needed to get into my office during a break and didn't have a key to get into the locked building. In the past the security had happily let me in, but a few times I was told that they don't do that for GAs, even if they're responsible for grades.
