A mixed bag - Faculty Missouri State University Employee Review

Culturally and intellectually, Springfield is something of a backwater. (Try reading the local paper and watching the local news for a week.) I and many other faculty became increasingly frustrated with student apathy and limited learning over the last 10 years, but concerns along these lines expressed to the administration fell on deaf ears. As long as enrollments are high, the administration sees no reason to strive to transform the academic culture.
