Pros
Collaborative work environment, you get what you put in, very challenging, open dialogue with heads of the company, room to move up in the company, start-up feel. Originally I had a manager who was very, very bad; no discredit to him as a person but he just didn't know how to manage people. In fact, he was so bad I was with the company for 2 months and immediately thought, "I have GOT to get out of here." But then he and several other people left the office and a very large restructuring occurred. The manager running the office now knows what he's doing. I see opportunity with my new team and the company itself and want to strive to move up within it; to build my career.
Cons
job is a roller coaster; one minute your on top of the world, the next you're questioning who you are as a person. This job requires a certain personality. If you don't like swearing, making fun of each other, working hard for 11 hours a day, this job isn't for you. Recruiting for an agency in general is a very, very stressful job. If you don't like pushing yourself to your limits, being uncomfortable and living in an environment where if you don't perform 24/7, you don't have a job, then it's not for you. Also, the commission structure is tough to deal with; it takes a long time to see your deal money and hence, takes a long time to consistently make a lot of money; there's a ramp-up period.
