Pros
There are some smart people left they haven't laid off yet. Try to catch them before they leave too.
Cons
Company has been destroyed by awful management over the past few years. New CEO as of January 2014 brought on board new leadership team and everyone has proven totally incompetent. There have been no significant new features released in the past two years and there's nothing in the pipeline that would get anyone excited either. Products lag significantly behind all competition and are falling behind more and more by the day with no hope of ever digging out. Monsoon just laid off about half their workforce and in the announcement there wasn't a shred of accountability taken by the new executive team that was brought on board to fix things. It's the stereotypical company where the executive team makes bad decisions (many times on a whim) and the employees pay the price for it. Severance pay for those who were laid off was one week for 1-5 years and two weeks for 5+ years - absolutely insane! The layoffs were a surprise to everyone including management. It felt like the company used up everyone as much as they could and let them go only when there was no money left to pay them a decent severance package. Almost everyone left at the company is currently looking elsewhere and rightly so. The company couldn't compete with a full workforce; they have no chance now. Sales are way down, customers are leaving the company at a rate of about 10% per year. Most departments have either no real manager or a first time manager so don't expect to get any coaching or feedback for growth. The CEO thinks he manages the sales team but he's never around and everyone knows he has no idea what he's doing. Much of the executive team is remote and shows up for a couple days every other week and acts like they have any clue what it actually going on. There's no accountability anywhere in the company at any level. If you're still working here, you're already looking to leave. If you're considering working here, it would be hard to find a worse option.
