Pros
Lots of interaction with a diverse campus community, you will be forced to meet a lot of people and frequently engage with them (and that's a good thing!), teamwork is valued and coworkers can become close friends, you definitely learn and grow a lot doing this. Free housing is nice, but don't do it just for that. It's not an easy job. It's not too too hard either, but it's not something you should just plainly show up for. Being there for the residents and them really looking up to you as a role model is the most rewarding aspect of the job imo
Cons
you're often expected to be constantly enthusiastic, you are expected to adopt a lot of the Residence Life department's values (feels a little like brainwashing; they definitely want you to be a very specific kind of excited person). There's a constant demand to be the RA persona. Also, most of the upper supervisors are straight crazy, and many supervisors in general are actively looking for new jobs.
