Pros
Products made by the company are interesting and have incredible real-world application. Good pay for technical roles - typically above the rest of the competition in the Western NY area (I can't speak for the nationwide and international sites) Great benefits and perks. Lots of support available. Room for growth in a lot of places and they tend to hire/promote internally.
Cons
Nepotism is rampant. Everyone knows everyone or worse, is related to or dating everyone else. Nobody really gets fired unless you are a contract worker or you do something that can't be brushed under the rug. A lot of coasters who know how to hide and stay out of the way but keep collecting a paycheck. There are even some vendors who are involved in romantic relationships with managers, which somehow doesn't make HR lift a finger. Don't we count as a government contractor? Some of our processes are archaic, and no sign of modernization or revamping coming.
