Cons
Some groups are fine, others are downright toxic. Harassment is rampant. Powerful partners/rainmakers get a pass on behavior; the rest just look the other way. Firm is top-heavy so little room for advancement. Turnover rate is extremely high and lateral hires come from regional firms or the government. Poor training and resources. Partners/senior associates give little information and even withhold information necessary to do your job. Poor transparency. Hours requirements for advancement/ bonus aren't set until the billable year ends, leaving associates working towards an unclear target. Any firm policy on work/life balance, mental health, etc. is just lip-service. Facetime is huge. You are only as good as the number of hours you bill (not the quality of your work).
