Pros
My immediate supervisor was an excellent boss. He was fair and respectful. He continues to be employed there. Good benefits.
Cons
Upper management is awful. Job descriptions change on a dime due to the company eliminating other positions. Your job therefore becomes triple the work at the same mediocre pay. Raises are pathetic, not even a cost of living adjustment. A constant problem in the hospital I worked at as a cook was nursing staff coming down, many would literally degrade you openly in front of other non employee customers, managements response, "We are s contracted company do unfortunately you just have to take all of it". Several times I was told this. "Be polite, let them speak to you that way, it's just the way it has to be." There is virtually no opportunity for advancement. Jobs are suppose to be posted, we have 2 campuses here in Syracuse and one time a higher paying job became available only it was never posted and conveniently the job at the other campus went my supervisors husband who wasn't employees with the company prior. The jobs are typically based on seniority and job history, which many of us who already worked for the company had. Yet this hirer paying opportunity was not available to us, which ultimately led to me seeking employment else where, after putting in 6 years. I wanted advancement, I put my time in, worked hard, and this company could care less. Oh, six years of employment and NOT ONE JOB PERFORMANCE EVALUATION!!!!!
