Pros

Decided to take on an entry-level sales and recruitment position right out of University. Yes, the base salary compared to other jobs was lower initially. But I took on this role because I saw the potential for growth. Growth is different for many people but for me, I was a fresh grad just looking to learn, and make some money! Crazy to think after a year my salary doubled, and the knowledge/experience within sales and recruitment grew exponentially. I learned how to foster great client/candidate relationships, negotiation skills, grew my confidence, and a lot more! The best thing is that there is ALWAYS continued growth! It really depends on what you are looking for, some people want money, manage a team, others can go explore a different role/route within the company. There are countless opportunities within the organization depending on what your motivators are, the company will do its best to meet your expectations. Personally, I decided to take on a team 2 years after joining the company. Now, I have been a manager for a couple of years, mentoring, training, and developing others but also learning daily on how to be a great manager!

Cons

Yes, in every organization there will be areas for improvement. When I first started we were very traditional with no flexibility. Now with the biggest global change, this allowed the organization to be more accomodating, flexible and create the work-life balance needed! There are growing pains with any entry-level position but with hard work, the right training, and the right attitude this job is a perfect opportunity to get into sales and recruiting within the fast-paced Toronto Tech market.

Pros

- Free Bagels - Good training

Cons

Pay is far below what the role demands. Management is unprofessional and sets unrealistic expectations with little recognition or reward. No commission is paid until 10 full-time placements are made. Health insurance benefits are poor. A culture of bullying is tolerated and goes unaddressed. Employees are encouraged to mislead candidates and use their personal information to generate more sales, which raises serious ethical concerns.
