Pros

Still lots of tribal knowledge and innovation left in this 85 year old company. You do get to learn a lot from the senior people in the company some of whom have been working with the company for more than 20 - 25 years. There are opportunities for growth as well if you have what it takes.

Cons

They recently got rid of stock awards for people E12 and below. This was a big blow to many in the engineering (non-management) discipline. Even a modest award could add a few thousand dollars as the stock price appreciates and that has hurt many people - especially since healthcare costs keep going up every year.

Pros

I highly value the autonomy I am given to manage my own workload, and I thoroughly enjoy collaborating with several of my talented colleagues.

Cons

That independence comes at a cost. The company is incredibly disorganized and siloed. Management will force lateral moves on you without asking; I've ended up balancing four different roles with absolutely no pay increase. Requests for fair compensation compared to the peers I trained were completely ignored. Territories change constantly, but zero training is provided. You are essentially left entirely on your own to figure it out.

Thanks for your review. We regularly review employee compensation to make sure it is competitive with local market practices in the industries and countries where we operate. Additionally, all Motorola Solutions employees participate in an annual incentive plan or a sales incentive plan. That said, we appreciate your feedback and have made a note of it.
