Pros
Lots of opportunities for development (career and personal) and to get involved in a variety of different work/projects if you are willing to push for it - things don't get handed on a plate. Lots of very skilled and knowledgeable people in MM who are willing to offer support to colleagues. Great non work aspects of MM include sports and social groups who organise a number of events for a variety of employees and their families; Young Professional Excellence activities for the development of our junior professionals (and hopefully our leaders of tomorrow), Lunch and Learn talks where colleagues can share their knowledge and experiences and Corporate Social Responsibility events to enable us to give back to the communities in which we work.
Cons
Managers are not provided with the appropriate skills and time to effectively manage. This means that employee who don't have the confidence to push for development don't always get noticed and can become disengaged. There is too much focus for Managers to be 100% fee earning - it is not realistic and Managers should be provided with the time to engage with their teams.
