Pros
Mphasis is undergoing a big transition. It is trying to diversify its business. Till 2010 it was getting 70% of business from one client, and in 2012 it has got it reduced to 48%. Though the business from other clients is increasing at a fast pace, but the decline of business from this one large client is resulting in Mphasis growth being almost flat. Pros: The strategy implemented by the senior management to reduce the dependency from single large customer is working really well. In another 2-3 years Mphasis would reduce the dependency on this one large customer to considerable amount. Thats when the actual growth in Mphasis would start getting visible to all employees. Mphasis has a very good policy of Reward and Recognition. These rewards (monthly, quarterly and annual) are not mere certificates but also has monetary benefits.
Cons
Support functions are slow because their strength has been reduced due to cost pressure. Number of new projects coming in is same as the number of existing project getting closed out. Hence the employee in existing projects (which are actually not closing) doesn't get much choice if they wantto move out. Weird bench policy creates uncertainity for employees and constant threat of losing their job.
