Pros

Used to be a good place with good education on products and holistic solutions, there are still a lot of good staff members who carry the company Nice discount

Cons

No consistency No room for growth if you’re not related to someone in the home office or have any of your own thoughts Lacking transparency on how the ESOP actually works Not actually an inclusive workplace- rules and regulations actively put in place to prevent employees with disabilities from moving up in the company Lack of communication So many started projects but never finished - you’ll see all over the internet how Mud Bay touts “good jobs strategies” but that hasn’t been brought up since it was proposed in like 2017. They constantly are changing health insurance providers. No regard for safety of employees during the pandemic. The CEO is really charismatic but he’s actually the least empathetic person, he’s just really good at getting people to think he cares.

Pros

Great company. Very friendly and professional. Treat you like a family.

Cons

Your work night shift. So if that’s not your thing you won’t like it.

Pros

The employee discount is great, best benefit of the job in my opinion. You get 40% off all products. My immediate team and manager were absolutely wonderful and the work atmosphere was great. You get to pet cute animals every day and help people solve their pet-related problems. When I started, there was great training and education, but that has recently gone downhill.

Cons

Even though my team was awesome, you can be sent to other locations when there are call-outs, and not every store has a good manager and co-workers. It felt a bit hostile when I went to work at other locations. Upper management is a total joke. They are controlling and make decisions that impact store employees without consulting those who actually work in retail.
