Pros

Honestly, let's start off with the fact that it's incredibly satisfying to "sell" something that you know is truly helping people. You're constantly helping people achieve their goals, and while there may be a few hard to deal with clients, the majority of people that come through are happy to be on the road to health. You also get a great employee discount. Makes the food really affordable and easy to commit to living the culture that you are promoting. Mario the Founder is now back to being the CEO, and I've never worked for someone that cares so much about all of his employees. He comes into locations, learns about you and YOUR goals, and is always pushing us to grow, not just for the company, but for ourselves. I know he is giving equity to long term employees who have been with the company over three years, as a few of my friends were just given their grant. Basically, with the stores opening all the time and the company itself still growing and molding, you have a chance to help shape it, and I always feel like my voice is heard. Finally, pay starts for everyone at $10. That's pretty good for starting wage retail.

Cons

I just passed by 3 year mark with the company (and look forward to my grant next round). This is a growing company. With growth come growing pains. Policies change at times. They are always trying to improve, and management can make mistake. But hey, if you're not willing to put in the effort, then go work at McDonalds. I don't hear about them giving their employees equity! Haha. Also, many people seem to say that if you don't want to grow in the nutritional or management role, there isn't much room for growth. That doesn't make sense to me. This is a retail business. We already have the added nutrition aspect, so what else do people want? If you started working at Foot Locker, the only path to growth that you have is management. Great. My Fit Foods already has a management route AND a nutritional route. The only true con I can think of is that there is a lot of change, and sometimes mixed messages. You need to be flexible and just have the ultimate goal in mind.

Pros

You get to work with great people. I love and miss my coworkers. Monthly team bonuses were always available but it was quite hard to “earn” the full bonus and it was contingent on the whole team. A lot of the bonus criteria was completely out of our control and almost impossible to achieve.

Cons

Micromanagement. This is basically a fancy grocery store that expects way too much out of their hourly employees such as new marketing ideas, the firing of our house delivery team which was then put on the employees with no additional pay and bonus criteria that contradicts itself…it’s a mess. They used to have a house delivery team that handled all deliveries, but fired everyone and hired uber, grub hub etc. to do deliveries. This change saved the company a lot of money but ultimately made more work and problems for the customer. They hold over the idea that you could be manager one day, but being a manager there seems miserable and not worth it.
