Pros

Decent coverage in branded and private label hard parts, accessories, and softer categories. From there, the product coverage recedes in paint, body, equipment. Heavy Duty coverage ranks 50% compared to rest of the market. If someone wishes to enter the automotive aftermarket to gain some decent skills, NAPA makes a sound work environment.

Cons

Senior management is out of touch of the market dynamics. They use internal metrics and blindly follow advice from experts who seem to give evidence based and factual data. But management has an unclear idea about what or why AutoZone, O'Reilly and Federated do so much better. Management trumpets their successes on mediocre stock and earnings per share results. And yet, they ruined the retail side by cutting back on capable people. As an insider, I tell you that R. Breuaux has retreated from the retail end and put all the eggs in commercial sales. That's why NAPA's stock price as lagged behind their competitors. Meanwhile, Randy and his crazies ruined their independent business. Walker Auto Parts slid into debt. Sanel Auto Parts is now limping along.

Pros

The hours are great compared to Autozone or O’reilly, the pay is much better compared to other auto parts retailers too. Anyone who complains about Napa Auot Parts doesn’t know what it’s like to work for their competitors. Unless you work for independent Napas I know their pay is different from corporate but I feel like this company actually cares about their employees and treats them fairly in regards to pay, and working here is much better and has a better work life balance compared to other retailers which is a plus. I can see myself making this a career and staying long term I love my job and what I do.

Cons

Tams sucks and catalog sucks, thats literally my only complaint about this company they need to upgrade the whole system and the way they do inventory and everything with regards to technology.

Pros

At the time of writing, I have worked for Napa for 9 years. I can say with a great deal of experience that the fellow employees will make your day. Easy people to work with all around. Something about the shared struggle of working for NAPA will really bring a group of folks together. Customers who come into a NAPA come for a reason. I find this to be a much different experience from other auto parts stores. Customers know what they are talking about, and that makes the job all the easier. Hours are consistent almost to a fault, but you will ceratily get at least your 40 hours.

Cons

When I first started with NAPA, they genuinely cared about their employees(gift cards on bday, anniversary lunch, anniversary gift, holiday bonuses, company-wide holiday parties). That is all gone. All management you will have personal contact with has ZERO authority to do ANYTHING. Do not expect a merit-based raise, or even a yearly raise(no raises in 2 years despite $2.3B in net profit for 2025). It seems to take an act of god to fire employees who literally do not do their job. DO NOT CLIMB THE LADDER. The higher you get in this company, the more you will regret it.
