Pros

Some career opportunities. Decent work/life balance for certain non-travel and non-management positions. Most immediate peers and some in middle-management are enjoyable and competent people.

Cons

Owned by private equity and financed through debt, NAVEX exists only to generate profit at the expense of the people. Management is cutting costs wherever possible and usually the employees take the brunt of the cuts. Salary is at least 50% below industry standards. Compensation increases are at 1-3% per year which is only slightly better than the Portland metro area Consumer Price Index of 1.5-2.5% (in other words, some employees make less this year than last year). Benefits like healthcare are the minimum to comply with regulations. The culture at NAVEX is non-existent. It feels dead on the inside and management will not make changes because they are concerned of outside perceptions. Management maintains the cultural status quo in fear of upsetting their customer base. Management doesn't want to be seen as anything other than the gold standard for ethics and compliance which is at the expense of cultural growth. The culture at NAVEX is like the character Patrick Bateman in American Psycho -- perfect, wealthy, and happy on the outside but dead on the inside. Terrible office location in Lake Oswego with poor access to amenities and lack of public transportation options. Working remotely is highly discouraged by management.

Thank you for your feedback. I am most saddened to hear that your experience with our internal culture was anything other than stellar. Over the past year, we have worked to implement several programs to improve our culture: *monthly employee lunches to bring everyone together, *quarterly meetings to recognize high performers and promote transparency through regular communication with leadership, *updated core values developed by our employees so it will resonate with our team members, *community outreach initiatives so we can make an impact with people in our area, *opportunities to interact outside of the office through softball, soccer, choir, and others. For 2015, Our attrition rate is 2% less than the average for our type of company, so I am happy that our efforts are reaching some team members. However, anything less than a 5 star experience for anyone on our team means that we have room to improve, and we will!
