Pros

Flexible when life occurs Caring working groups Robust professional development program if employee chooses to engage Easy to move to a new position at the next grade after a year in current grade. If you don’t like it finding and gaining another government job is fairly easy. WFH max 3 days a week

Cons

Only three days of week work from home The working process are convoluted The majority of the workforce is an ever aging older community of folks who are set in their ways and with mil officers holding the top positions while rotating every two years makes it difficult to maintain historical knowledge and make changes that actually benefit the company. Most of the elderly workforce has a I’m about to retire so I’m skating the rest of the way. No or little repercussion for poorly performing employees. It’s said that outstanding reviews are frowned upon bc there is always room for improvement, which has nothing to do with your previous years performance. Every app and data system is beyond outdated. No one really knows or follows the processes as written and the process are often outdated and do not alight with basic project management and business principles.

Pros

Won’t fire anyone, know how much you’re going to make.

Cons

Bad raises. Job growth is very uncommon. Management is incompetent from top to bottom. Not enough people and too much work. Nepotism is rampant in this organization. Unqualified people are promoted. Career bad apples are left without being fired or disciplined. First level managers are useless. They at too much red tape to do the most basic things. Upper levels are arrogant and hard headed.hiring has been frozen for a year yet somehow the ‘bud club’ is promoting people constantly who are in their ‘inner circle’. Hiring actions are super sketchy, names are dropped for specific people to be hired etc. It’s crazy
