Pros
To summarize: - Great people and management - Good culture - Healthy growth - Very committed to remote work - Competitive pay - Commitment to internal quality and standards - Flexible work schedules Some Additional Details: The company is full of really great people. I've been working at NEI for about a year and the employee demographics skew towards mid-30's making the majority of the workforce fairly young. Overall, good hiring practices seems to have resulted in a very fun, hard-working, intelligent, and productive group of people. The company has grown significantly over the last few years, but has handled the expansion well. A good balance has been struck between forecasting work and hiring people to cover the upcoming projects. Sometimes the balance skews towards being slightly overworked, but it's a difficult period for forecasting market trends in the energy sector. More importantly, the company puts a large emphasis on growing our processes with the size of the company. A significant effort has and is being made to use tools, standards, and optimization to maintain consistency and quality across expanding teams. Lastly, the company has gone 100% in on remote work. With only one office located in Lakewood Colorado and employees spread all over the US, it's honestly hard to see how NEI could return to office even if it wanted to. Remote work has become a cornerstone of the company and it's here to stay. On top of that, after you work at NEI for a while they will support qualified individuals in becoming "Digital Nomads", which is a great way to travel around the world while holding down your nine to five.
Cons
- The benefits are just okay. They are not terrible, but I've had better. - NEI is pretty cheap when it comes to travel. Which is usually more of an annoyance than a problem. - Sometimes the work/life balance can skew towards the overworked, But that is also just the nature of this industry, - Remote work is not for everyone and unless you live in the Denver area, you are not going to be in the office very often.
