Pros

I have made some of the best memories at NORY. From amazing co-workers to a supportive staff who go out of their way to help you, I have only had good experiences here.  I started as an AT and then eventually was given the honor to fit into the shoes of a Site Director. I joined right after finishing my masters program, and it was such a great way to transition into a school setting because it helped me think about how to make my classroom teaching both fun and engaging.  I am always blown away by the curriculum and how it’s both so fun and educational for kids— I really wish I could have been a camper at NORY too! The trainings for teachers are robust, the communication with staff has always been pleasant, and the lesson plans are very-well constructed.  Management always asks for teacher feedback and and is willing to provide constructive feedback to help teachers who want to grow within their roles.

Cons

NORY offers a lot of great coaching through constructive feedback (think story-telling, acting, use of props and character voices) at camps, but if you're not someone who is comfortable trying different ways of teaching, the transition may be a bit hard.

Pros

I’ve worked at a few different camps, and NORY is by far the best run. The curriculum is genuinely fun to teach. It focuses on stem building, so you never feel like you're just babysitting. You get to lead real, hands-on engineering and robotics projects that the kids are excited about. I also love the culture here. teachers and kids celebrate "awesome mistaeks" and value empathy. They actually care. those values creates a real positive environment.

Cons

To be completely real you are expected to bring 100% positive energy to the camp every day. it's not a camp whre you can be on your phone and chill (i have been many of those). Also because it's so hands-on, things move fast. You have to be quick and savvy with tinkering.

Pros

- nice people and organized schedules

Cons

Felt like the management didn’t really care about the workers. Had to wake up early to bring supplies
