Pros

There are many reasons to work at NORY. Among them, NORY has a healthy philosophy, a mission, and great values. NORY focuses on expanding children’s imagination, hands-on learning, and scaffolding the campers in their projects. The scaffolding is interactive that helps students build confidence to explore more difficult tasks. NORY creates a supportive environment for the students to succeed in any of their activities (games or projects), and helps them learn through natural play. Teachers are modeling until students grasp new concepts, and master new skills. So, there is a great learning environment. NORY’s core values are: Resilience, Inquisitiveness, and Empathy. These values are authentic, and teach children to acquire knowledge, and build a nice personality (become good citizens). Learning at an early age to ask intelligent questions, never give up one’s dreams, and be compassionate toward those less fortunate, are invaluable qualities that the campers acquire at NORY. I highly recommend NORY Science Camp to all children, especially to those who love science.

Cons

Some projects were very demanding for the Pre-K and K students, and required more time. Therefore, finishing those projects had to be delayed.

Pros

I’ve worked at a few different camps, and NORY is by far the best run. The curriculum is genuinely fun to teach. It focuses on stem building, so you never feel like you're just babysitting. You get to lead real, hands-on engineering and robotics projects that the kids are excited about. I also love the culture here. teachers and kids celebrate "awesome mistaeks" and value empathy. They actually care. those values creates a real positive environment.

Cons

To be completely real you are expected to bring 100% positive energy to the camp every day. it's not a camp whre you can be on your phone and chill (i have been many of those). Also because it's so hands-on, things move fast. You have to be quick and savvy with tinkering.
