Pros

Merged with Dell recently; this could result in changes in the future if Dell Management can engage and eliminate NTT DATA strategies and leadership; WFH policies are a plus if permitted on the account

Cons

NTT DATA falsely advertises to clients that it's an IT services company with extensive experience implementing tools, products, and services to support business clients. The truth is that NTT DATA doesn't maintain any staff on the bench and hires mostly third party unknowns to work on projects. The results are generally disastrous for projects leading to delays, incomplete work, higher costs for the client plus embarrassment for staff managing projects who have to face client anger. NTT DATA doesn't back up its employees either. Delivery and Account Management are poorly skilled and inept. NTT DATA recruiting unfairly discriminates against American-born employees by seeking foreign-based employees. Qualified American based employee resumes are not passed on even when submitted directly to NTT DATA HR for screening. This presents an ethical question for someone, somewhere to examine. Tremendous shifting of senior management from role to role also damages credibility with clients.

Pros

I have worked with NTT DATA as a government IT and project management consultant since 2018, starting with Cognosante before the acquisition. My experience has been very positive. I have had the autonomy to focus on the success of my team and my client, while also having the support of a large, high-performing organization. There are real opportunities for growth, strong training resources, and leaders who genuinely care about employees, clients, and the communities they serve. I have also been promoted during my time here, which reflects the company’s commitment to recognizing and developing talent.

Cons

As with many large organizations, processes and systems and can sometimes take time to navigate, especially during periods of growth or transition. Continued focus on communication and simplifying internal processes would make the employee experience even stronger.

Pros

- Strong global presence allows for diverse projects, clients, and opportunities - Enabled and encouraged to learn new technologies, use tools, and grow skills - Generally supportive teams and cross collaboration - Great work-life balance in many roles

Cons

- Compensation and raises can be slow, infrequency, and below market - Personal Development review process can be unclear and slow - Processes and decision making around them can feel very outdated, there seems to be a lack of structure and clarity around many HR and business operations areas - Very little employee recognition - Critical benefits information isn’t distributed well and there is zero follow up actions to ensure we have all important access/accounts set up
