Pros

Independence - as a NTT consultant if you are at the client location or working on a project, you are not micro managed and are not part of politics which is a norm if you were working for a company. Not much blame game either.

Cons

Company has potential to be successful, but management is not moving fast enough to implement and communicate their vision to the rank and file. All the companies bought by NTT are still operating under the NTT logo, every company is still using their own legacy system and operating independently, NTT has yet to realize efficiency gain from merging these companies. Too many layers, everyone is director and VP, although they can barely perform at that level, unqualified managers who can not handle clients properly but they all have shiny titles on their shoulders to show off. Too many competing silos, means NTT can not put an unified front for the client fast enough. Recruiters lie big time, do not believe anything which you are told. Benefits suck, medical is too expensive for the consultants, no 401(K) in the first year. Horrible HR and backend IT support system, they have no accountability.

Pros

- Strong global presence allows for diverse projects, clients, and opportunities - Enabled and encouraged to learn new technologies, use tools, and grow skills - Generally supportive teams and cross collaboration - Great work-life balance in many roles

Cons

- Compensation and raises can be slow, infrequency, and below market - Personal Development review process can be unclear and slow - Processes and decision making around them can feel very outdated, there seems to be a lack of structure and clarity around many HR and business operations areas - Very little employee recognition - Critical benefits information isn’t distributed well and there is zero follow up actions to ensure we have all important access/accounts set up
