Pros

Base salary is good. Working from home is possible. It was a good place to work for a couple of years.

Cons

The working environment is difficult especially with other colleagues (especially sales staff) constantly bugging for help. It's extremely distracting and hard to focus. In the time I've been here, I was never offered any training or asked if I would like to attend a course relevant to IT security. This company are experts in IT security so they should at least ensure that their staff are able to keep their certifications and skills updated. There appears to be an element of favoritism across the board. Certain people who are obviously friendly with management staff get away with whatever unprofessional actions they like. Even if you are a consultant, you WILL work for the sales team. They are unreasonable, and don't understand or care how long it takes to do something. You will be forced to write up proposals, and other documents in the minimal time possible. Office politics (as mentioned by another reviewer) is horrible. After working in the industry for 15 years, I understand workplace dynamics well, but for such a small company, the amount of time wasted arguing and going back and forth between multiple people is unbelievable. There were even a couple of times that I witnessed crying because someone didn't get their own way. There's no real option to develop your technical skills further. As a consultant focused on delivery, you work on a job and attempt to finish it in the quickest time possible. The faster you deliver a project, the better this is for sales as they can request for your help or get you working on another project. In a sense, it's factory-line work. Nothing fulfilling here.

Pros

The company is rising the ranks as they are combining all of their internal business teams and processes as well as they are capable of.

Cons

You are a number. The family dedication of 'doing whatever it takes to get the job done' is gone, as new management has come in and made everything a calculation. They have slashed every US job they can, and if you're in the EU and your role can be sent to India, you are next. If your individual math doesn't add up for longer than 2 weeks, you'll be on your way out. If you are on vacation, you are also questioned about that math not adding up. Just added a bench process to get everyone infighting for roles they aren't appropriate for and dragging out their personal needs. A select few are exempt, even though the bench process isn't fully working or completely understood. Reporting structures are all in flux and everyone is 3 months into the year without identified goals or team reporting set for the year.
