Pros

*Regional manager that I reported to was one of the most compassionate individuals that I've met. They were always understanding when emergencies came up and I couldn't make it to work. *Able to manage own workload throughout the day with minimal to no supervision, if I couldn't finish something that day I was always allowed to the next day with no rush being placed on me. *Workdays could be as short as two hours or as long as eight depending on workload, though it primarily depended on what you wanted to achieve that day. *If you are able to form a professional, functioning relationship with the floral department in Kroger this is a wildly easy job.

Cons

*Equipment can break, it can take a long time for it to be repaired. Specifically, it took me over two months to get a screw and washer for the contraption that was used to water the plants, as they had fallen out on the prior vendor and they had failed to report it. * Management is often extremely busy and can sometimes be hard to contact.

Pros

Working with plants, being outside.

Cons

The job described does not match what the job is actually like. When I was hired I was told that you would most likely be off by noon everyday. Everything is inconsistent. You can’t plan around anything because trucks never come when they say they are going to. Working with the Kroger management is an absolute nightmare. You get little to no support from management. There have been several issue I’ve had with the company about my time card not being correct. Missing hours on my pay stub or finding out I was clocked out already when leaving a store for the day. I recommend anyone working for this company to keep a close eye on your time card and make sure it matched your pay stub! Almost all of the Kroger employees express how much they hate our company and because of that we are retaliated against in stores. The work load for one person especially if you have multiple stores is astronomical. They micromanage their employees when clocking in and out and with go spot check. Don’t hire people you don’t trust to clock in and out independently.

Thank you for sharing your feedback. We are glad to hear you enjoyed the outdoor nature of the merchandising role and working with our live product. We take concerns regarding time-tracking and payroll precision incredibly seriously; our goal is always to ensure our team is paid accurately and on time for every hour worked. We are continuously refining our logistics, communication tools, and field support to better manage unpredictable delivery windows. Additionally, we are actively working with our retail partners to ensure our in-store teams have a supportive environment to execute their jobs successfully. We value your feedback on communication practices and would welcome the opportunity to discuss your experience further. Please feel free to reach out to our HR department directly so we can look into your specific time card notes.
