Pros

-Fully remote. -Good work/life balance. -Decent time off.

Cons

-Below average pay for industry/experience. -Rude co-workers & boss. Management will not step in regarding verbal abuse from a co-worker even when it's written in the team group-chat. In response to asking a question, "How do you seriously not know how to do this?" even after explaining attempted solutions to show genuine independent effort before reaching out. -Being verbally harassed by a co-worker and management's response being verbatim, "Well, it is sort of your fault..." -Discouraged from taking initiative. Told to not propose new ideas for improvement to business for their review. Again, verbatim, "There is no freedom, just do as you're told." -Company culture is to rush out a product even if it's at the expense of the product quality. -Databases are very poorly managed in both architecture and data quality. -Management will reinforce that skill learning, even when relevant to your position or current work, must ONLY be done outside of your normal work hours. Direct quote spoken multiple times, "We're not getting paid to learn." -Incompetent co-workers who barely understand how to write well-written and well-architected code. (Maybe because the company discourages learning during work?) -Working with legacy code that is 20 years old and horribly written in terms of readability and efficiency.
