Pros

Decent work life balance. Most of the low level people are really nice to work with.

Cons

There's a "fake it till you make it" strategy that is pushed at all levels. After working there for a couple years you realize that most of the people around you are faking it and with no real guidance the potential improvement is very limited. Second, the company pretends like they have an altrustic mission statement to help engineers and scientists but it's all a ploy. Their only goal is profit. Look at their strategy - They're divesting in universities and learning institutions, they're offshoring anything they can (like support) to Costa Rica, and they're focusing on their big money makers. I don't fault them, but it was painful listening to management say one thing and do another.

Teams were let go after they were purchased. I'm not sure how it is now.
