Lacking Strong Middle Management - Sales National Instruments Employee Review

Pros

The People HQ in Austin, Texas

Cons

Middle managers are lacking the necessary leadership skills and training to coach and develop their direct reports. More often than not NI hires from within and puts people in management positions that lack the skills to manage other people effectively. Unfortunately, a lack of middle management experience and corporate politics have increased voluntary attrition and they continue to lose solid performers. While it has been a topic of continuous improvement at NI for over 2 years, compensation is still below expectations and for those that go above and beyond are still rewarded poorly.
