Pros

Great R&D investment. Depends on the management chain but if your boss is the right kinda of advocate for you the pay for sales increases rapidly vs tenure. The currently management is pretty aggressive with reform to meet the changes in the market but this has only equated to better compensation and workflow for its employees.

Cons

Ability to move if you want either a change in role or location. There have been cases of this but in my experience I was told "Yes, we should have positions open that you can be considered for. We will help where we can." After a couple years of waiting and hearing this, I got frustrated. Its not like I wasn't performing either...they kept raising my salary and saying the same thing. Not a bad situation at all but not the response I wanted at the time.

Teams were let go after they were purchased. I'm not sure how it is now.

Career advancement can be slow, with limited opportunities for promotion or lateral movement in some orgs. Compensation growth tends to fall behind. Several org changes following Emerson acquisition.
