Top-heavy, disorganized - Principal Engineer National Instruments Employee Review

Pros

-Trying to fix compensation problems -Reasonable, employee-centered response to pandemic -100 year plan with a long history of solid culture

Cons

Very deep management stack balanced on thin layer of developers. Churn culture has been adopted throughout most of the software org. Devs interview for new or existing jobs roughly annually, often accompanied by layoffs. Skill specialization replaced mostly with plug-n-play dev model, which still seems to be in an experimental phase. Large cap ambitions with small cap execution. If you thrive on chaos and churn, apply within.
