Pros

NI did a great job handling the pandemic and taking employee's individual situations into consideration. They're generally quite flexible with time off and grant unpaid time off if desired. The renovations made to the campus are really great.

Cons

NI is on a decline towards being just another under paid corporate grind factory. Middle management is often clueless. Expect to be shuffled around between teams and projects without having any say in the matter. After working there for a few years you'll be lucky to get a 2% "performance" adjustment to your salary; what about inflation? I've sat through quite a few feel-good presentations from the executives about focusing on the people, yet salaries remain low and mentorship structure is shockingly bad. They offered an optional vacation day last year for Juneteenth in the heat of the protests. Despite Juneteenth being declared a national holiday this year, leadership did not recognize it as a holiday this year.

Great place to work, wonderful environment and people.

Cons

Teams were let go after they were purchased. I'm not sure how it is now.

Smart and supportive co-workers who are willing to help and share knowledge. Exposure to full product development cycle. Generally positive company culture.

Career advancement can be slow, with limited opportunities for promotion or lateral movement in some orgs. Compensation growth tends to fall behind. Several org changes following Emerson acquisition.
