Pros

It’s a 40 year old catalog company that makes test parts, like Radio shack. New logo and name, but, mostly for image and marketing. It’s not even updated on this site and the ceo is outdated. HR does not know or care about it. Big campus north of town but it’s mostly empty and surrounded by a fence.

Cons

Managers have been here comfortably for most of their career. Mine did not know how to motivate or inspire, so he controlled and micro managed instead. If you are a US worker that has not yet been replaced with a cheaper worker in Costa Rica or Hungary, just wait. Almost everyone in my meetings speaks English as a second language. People complain about low salaries don’t understand pay reflects the market value of the company. If it’s easy to hire someone for low salary, they will do it. It’s all about low cost here.

Career advancement can be slow, with limited opportunities for promotion or lateral movement in some orgs. Compensation growth tends to fall behind. Several org changes following Emerson acquisition.
