Pros

Home work life balance is good. Other employees are kind people who seem to genuinely care for each other.

Cons

Upper management is uninterested in what is really going on in the company and seem very disconnected from their employees. There is poor regular communication between upper/mid management that provides the level of detailed information needed for the worker bees who actually perform the work to do their jobs well. Attrition is also currently very bad and the previous loyalty and engagement that the company used to have is gone. All jobs are being offshored and it is a rotation of just getting stuff done to keep the lights on without regard to how the resulting systems/assets will be maintained or how useful and purposeful the work is. This is really no different from other big companies. Overall for a big company it is a good place to work (although the pay seems a little lower than other Austin based big companies.)

Teams were let go after they were purchased. I'm not sure how it is now.

Smart and supportive co-workers who are willing to help and share knowledge. Exposure to full product development cycle. Generally positive company culture.

Career advancement can be slow, with limited opportunities for promotion or lateral movement in some orgs. Compensation growth tends to fall behind. Several org changes following Emerson acquisition.
