A sad place to work - Anonymous employee National University Employee Review

Pros

Tuition scholarship, benefits such as medical, dental, and retirement matching

Cons

This place will suck the life out of you. New employees come in excited to help students succeed only to find out that the university is money hungry and cares little for their students and staff. Employees are leaving because their managers show little appreciation for the work they perform and ideas they share. People with strong work ethics and great contributions go unappreciated and unrecognized. The lazy and incompetent get to skate by and get paid the same or more. The only thing that matters to upper management is numbers and profits.

Pros

The University has taken tangible and meaningful steps toward fulfilling its mission in an increasingly thoughtful and responsible way. There is a genuine commitment among leaders to collaborate more effectively and work together in support of shared goals. The 403(b) match is an outstanding benefit, and the PTO/sick leave offerings are equally strong and greatly appreciated.

Cons

One ongoing challenge is the imbalance between the volume of work and the number of people available to support it. Teams are highly committed, but workloads can at times exceed current staffing capacity.
