Pros

Benefits, I had no deductible on my health plan Remote work Great work culture among coworkers

Cons

The biggest downside is leadership by far. There was a merger between National University and Northcentral University that was abysmal on every metric. They actively do not tell us about changes and actively do not attempt to improve them. The new president has fired people in so many departments, like Learning and Development, HR, Payroll, and Teaching credentials without any plan in place for us to take up their work. There's 5-10 people working in learning and development that somehow must address the whole University. We were tasked with advising students on teaching credentials without any training for years. We basically had to guess and NU was not interested if we were advising correctly. In the last 2 years my work has tripled and my expertise had to triple and they thanked me with a salary increase of less than a dollar an hour. If you must work from home, then this is an option. If you can avoid it, please do. This will save you alot of stress.

Pros

The University has taken tangible and meaningful steps toward fulfilling its mission in an increasingly thoughtful and responsible way. There is a genuine commitment among leaders to collaborate more effectively and work together in support of shared goals. The 403(b) match is an outstanding benefit, and the PTO/sick leave offerings are equally strong and greatly appreciated.

Cons

One ongoing challenge is the imbalance between the volume of work and the number of people available to support it. Teams are highly committed, but workloads can at times exceed current staffing capacity.
