      Overall benefits are pretty good.

      Cons

      Bureaucracy is king. Nothing moves quickly except deadlines for briefing information and answering questions. Constantly putting out fires that never should have been started in the first place. Lots of people doing the bare minimum to collect a paycheck.

      Decent pay and benefits for the area, unique work that you can't do many other places, good opportunities for travel and promotion

      Cons

      Commute and parking turns 8 hour shifts into 10 hour shifts, mandatory overtime and travel for periods of several months, frequent shutdowns, very poor morale, terrible first level supervision, mediocre middle management
