Pros
I hesitated to take a job with a large company because I was soured on large healthcare corporations treating nurses like a productivity unit rather than a human being. I am happy to say I have never felt like “just a number” here at Naven. I have the opportunity to provide excellent care for my patients every day. The nurse manager is approachable and responsive and previously worked in the field so he understands what my job entails and isn’t just blindly managing his staff. I get regular communication from upper management and would feel comfortable reaching out to them if there were any issues. The online technology is easy to navigate as far as charting, finding policies, education, etc… Good communication and responsiveness from the IT helpline to the educators. I stepped down from a big role at another company to improve my work life balance, and I have zero regrets.
Cons
There is not much opportunity to get to know the other nurses in the area very well because we are all in the field.
