Pros
I really enjoyed working with most of my coworkers. Many were supportive and went out of their way to help one another. I met a lot of great friends through this job.
Cons
Netsmart lures you in with the promise of great benefits, a fun and stress-free working environment, and supportive managers; all of which they were unable to deliver. After a hard year of working and receiving multiple accolades from clients, I received a raise that came out to an extra $50 a paycheck. I would take over calls for my coworkers, speak to clients outside of normal working hours, etc., and that $50, apparently, is how much they valued my hard work. My manager was uninterested in me as a person and an employee, and immediately showed their true colors after I submitted my resignation, as they made passive aggressive comments about me leaving both to myself and to other coworkers. They also never bothered to say goodbye on my last day or message me on Teams; it felt like once I was no longer of use to them, they did not care about me as a person or an employee. The work environment also grew increasingly hostile. I had a coworker send another coworker home crying; they also showed inappropriate photos to their coworkers without asking, took a picture of my coworker while they weren't paying attention and saved it to their phone, and harassed another coworker at a happy hour. I also heard them make several racist and sexist comments to and about coworkers who were not white or male. All of these instances were reported to HR, and the only consequence this person faced was having their desk moved away from the coworker they harassed. So, while Netsmart can claim they value diversity, tolerance, and inclusion, the actions of the HR department say otherwise. I actually really shouldn't be surprised, as every Netsmart executive is a middle aged white guy. They claim they value women and people of color, but their behavior begs to differ; for International Women's Day, they honored women by doing a live, SIX QUESTION quiz about notable women in history. That was literally all they did, yet they make Memorial Day into a weeks long event, rather than a one day event. I could also count on one hand the number of POC who work at Netsmart; as a side note, my WHITE manager used to regularly imitate a 'ghetto' black woman as a bit in team meetings, so do with that information what you will. The entire company is one big boys' club, but they'll never actually say that part out loud. Myself and another coworker were also scolded (like children) by project managers on a number of different occasions; each time, when the project managers realized that we weren't actually the people who were messing up the budget (bottom line), they barely apologized. I was once even accused of LYING about the meetings I'd been having with a client as a way to get my hours up. When I defended myself and offered to send proof of the calls to the project manager, they suddenly stopped replying. Overall, this is what to expect if you get a job at Netsmart; very little job training, but irritated managers when you ask for help due to a lack of training. A company that claims it's a family, but immediately being ignored once you actually need support. A C-suit that claims to value diversity in the work place, but allows a racist, sexist, and overall hostile working environment. A promise of great benefits, but a low salary and even lower raises. Just don't bother with this company. There's a reason the turnover rate is so high.
