Pros

Flexible schedule, some good clients you get to meet and nice that you can pick up shifts and get bonuses

Cons

No communication sometimes I only work 2 days a week when I’m supposed to be full time. Clients will take advantage of you sometimes and just want you to be a taxi driver or care for things that aren’t our responsibility.

Pros

The clients appreciate you. They really do, and they'll let you know how happy they are to have you. This job does make a real difference in people's lives day by day. A lot of independence and trust is placed in you as a CG. I appreciate that.

Cons

You never really know what you're walking into. No matter what the care plan says there will often times be issues not stated in the care plan, no matter how many questions you ask for clarification. Usually environmental challenges. Clients normally get 40 reimbursable miles a month and after those are gone (they go quick), its at the caregivers expense to run errands for the client.
