Pros

People here are smart and earnest and genuinely care about the future of real unbiased journalism. From the muchraking investigative teams thanklessly digging through data for months to publish groundbreaking news stories to the editors of each section, people seem to feel the weight of the paper’s history and purpose and to respect that.

Cons

Like many big businesses, The Times gets bogged down in its organizational issues. The hierarchy sometimes makes it hard for fresh voices to stand out. Other times, they seem to grasp at what’s trendy, and make inappropriate or less than ideal hires in order to seem more digitally forward and relevant.

Pros

Challenging and rewarding work. You'll work in an environment that publishes the news everyday, if you are excited about helping people learn more about the world, you'll love it here. Good benefits, hybrid work, and really smart coworkers.

Cons

Does not pay like big tech but as an IC you'll be part of union with job protections
