Pros

you have the pride of working at the most prestigious newspaper in the world, and can have some interaction with the journalists and get the inside scoop on some of their personalities and histories. It's interesting work if you're a news junkie.

Cons

They're known as a place that pays below market, and they have to considering how badly the whole newspaper industry is doing. I worked in the online group and they certainly pay less than online only entities. It's a very, very political place. It's all about kissing up to management. Very little management expertise in the senior managers. Generally, they get management responsibility after doing a good job in a corporate role that has no management responsibility like strategic planning.

Pros

Challenging and rewarding work. You'll work in an environment that publishes the news everyday, if you are excited about helping people learn more about the world, you'll love it here. Good benefits, hybrid work, and really smart coworkers.

Cons

Does not pay like big tech but as an IC you'll be part of union with job protections
