Pros

Foreclosure “first level” management does not micromanage. For the most part they give you your space and allow you to come in and do what you are supposed to do. Some really nice & friendly employees and “first level” managers. You just have to weed them out. I got along very well with my assigned manager, supervisor, and my co-workers on my assigned team. My particular manager trusted me to come in and do my work and often encouraged me to work towards promotion. That was appreciated, as that is not always common. So if you’re lucky to get a supportive manager, good for you. Laid back work environment.

Cons

Poor “UPPER” management due to their attitude, lack of knowledge, and poor leadership. Upper management and some lower level managers do not know how to communicate effectively with non-management employees and often lack etiquette. They never come down off their high pedestal and really get to know the lower level employees on the floor. Yet they will complain to your direct manager or supervisor regarding your “tone” in an email or peg you as unfriendly. HELLO it starts with management first. Be an example. However, that practice is not recognized here at this company. Plenty of office politics. It’s not what you know it’s who you know and how well you tap dance. If you think you will be recognized from the merit of your work alone you would be mistaken. Of course the company would deny this, but I would see it all the time with my own two eyes. Therefore, I have formed my own opinion. Many holes in the work processes. It is a throw it against the wall and see what sticks type mentality. Nothing is ever 100% thought through before launching. Management cannot continue to use the “we’re a work in progress…these are growing pains” excuse. Fix the holes and implement change. The problem is upper management does not listen to the employers on the frontline who offer sound advice. You constantly have to repeat the same thing over and over. But then they continue to ask what they can do to make changes or make things better. Also, it was always made to be that the Foreclosure Specialist was responsible for everything, meanwhile the other departments seem to never have to take accountability. That leads back to the holes in the work process. There is no money to be made in the FC Dept.in my opinion Pay could be more competitive. Especially for the amount of work they expect a Foreclosure Specialist to do on a daily basis. Often felt over worked and under paid which at times made me feel underappreciated. I had an isolated issue at the company as reason to my departure. However, one thing they cannot deny me is the hard quality work and dedication I provided in the 2 years I was employed with the company. Came to work each day, minded my business, and cared about getting the job done. I only wish it was reflected in my paycheck. No overtime. At all. Ever. Management actually goes around making sure everyone is clocked out no later than 530pm. However, you are expected to complete a heavy load of work in an 8 hour day. Poor work culture; too much gossip and rumors, often felt like high school, people constantly getting too comfortable and crossing boundaries. A person cannot just come to work mind their business and do their job. Computer system and network needs to be upgraded. Slow and constantly down. Server does not seem big enough for the amount of people on the system. HR has no “official” process in place for employees to apply internally. Very unorganized. Its up to you to go to their website to read their vague job dx to see what is available. They send out weekly newsletters with office highlights and jokes, but they do not include open positions so current employees are aware. At least post in the break room. But when you do hear of an opening and apply, then you have to go through hoops to obtain an interview. There didn’t seem to be a proper process in place for that either. Just unorganized. It seems they prefer to hire from the outside before they allow opportunities to those who currently work for the company.

Pros

I get to work remotely. They have a good retirement plan/401K. I work autonomously with very little oversight, meaning there's no micromanaging. They are great with holidays and time off. Very inclusive and socially aware. Those are two reasons I've remained employed by them.

Cons

The salary is lower than preferred. I've worked two years with zero pay increase because "no pay increases for remoter employees". The health insurance is lacking and not fantastic, but I'm not sure that's really a con since nearly every health insurance plan in America is lacking.

Pros

- Great work/life balance - Awesome coworkers - Lots of opportunities to try new things and be innovative

Cons

- Senior leadership does not value remote workers and doesn't get to know them/engage with them - Frequently lays off remote employees, regardless of performance, achievements, or job role, sometimes without offering options to move or relocate. They also on occasion use underhanded tactics to pressure remote employees to leave so they don't have to pay out severance. Lastly, unless required by your state's law, they never pay out your remaining time off - If you start underpaid, you will remain underpaid even after promotions - Job performance does not impact yearly bonuses/increases. Pay doesn't keep up with inflation
