For starters, there’s limited work/life balance. Many employees stay well beyond 5:30pm, have weekend shifts at least twice a month, and have to work some holidays. Management’s idea of “summer Fridays” is you being able to leave before 6pm. The turnover in some departments also speaks for itself. Immature behavior, “non-workers” (AKA people doing nothing all day) and middle managers who couldn’t manage their way out of a cardboard box is enough to make anyone want to leave. Pair that with little direction from upper management, you’ll want to exit stage left by week 1. I’ve dealt with enough negative experiences while working here to say this is not a place you work and feel respected, valued, or treated fairly, especially if you care about learning and doing a good job. Some people will try to suck the life out of you because their ego and perceived level of power are what’s important to them. To put it simply, I personally don’t know anyone that has ever had a positive experience working here. It’s wonderful that execs have an “open door policy” until you realize that they’re either inept at handling certain situations or they’d rather turn a blind eye to real issues in the office brought up by employees, which is just as inexcusable. I will say there are good learning opportunities if you push to learn more. There’s a lot of “job security by withholding of information,” so ask questions, get involved in all that you can, and you may get something out of working here beyond a daily headache. Unfortunately, there can be hundreds of bad reviews on here (which there are) and employees can shout at the top of their lungs, but honestly, no one of power cares to listen or make changes. They care about money and money only, at the expense of their employees’ well-being.
