Pros

Full time work from home

Cons

Ever since Rusty Frantz left and David Sides took over, it's been going downhill. Rusty made the place feel like one big family with one job and everyone had everyone's back now everyone, watch your back! David Sides joins and slowly but surely destroys that family and just focuses on his one job, the almighty dollar. He brought in failed laid off Cerner employees to carry out his desires. Many of the Cerner folks that came in took high level positions, like directors, that they had no knowledge or experience at. They refused to use the NextGen terminology or even see what our processes were before they 'process improved'. However they were yes people for everything the executive leadership team was promoting with the ultimate goal of selling NextGen and lining the ELT's pockets with boat loads of cash. Nextgen was acquired on 11/10/2023, a Friday. That following Monday the layoffs started, right before the holidays. 20% of the work force wiped out in a week. Most of them US side and many with over 10 years experience and extensive domain knowledge that is now lost. I get it, more senior US employees are expensive and the powers to be want to move as much work over seas because the ultimate goal is to sell NextGen to another company in a few years. That's what equity firms do.

Pros

It is remote and pays enough if you have a second job.

Cons

Your job is never safe here no matter how hard you work. They just laid off nearly 100 people, all of whom were extremely valuable assets to the company. They’ll do these on a YEARLY basis. Particularly after this last round, any shred of trust I had in leadership is gone. They announced it on a town hall and the CHRO said “guys it’s only 3%, stop freaking out” completely tone deaf to the fact that nearly 100 people’s lives just got flipped upside down. The expectation is to sell your soul to the company in return for nothing. Raises and bonuses are non-existent, even with excellent performance. In peak seasons where you are putting in extra hours and/or times where you are exceeding goals, you can expect maybe a kudos email from leadership and that’s it, no real recognition for the hard work you put in. Onboarding to your team regardless of department is also an incredibly disorganized and inefficient process. You can expect to spend more time struggling to access the software you need for your job than actually learning your job. There are minimal SOPs for operations, yet management will get mad when you do something “wrong” even though they themselves cannot even explain and show the “right” way.
